“No Go Day” . . .

Liking this day each week where I choose
no appointments, coffee out, lunch out, no trips to the grocery store . . . nothing.
And instead, just a day at home . . . amazing . . .

Yesterday . . . I stayed in my pj’s ALL DAY . . .
I can’t remember the last time I did that . . .
And I had no excuses for the person who rang the door bell . . .
Or for my SIL who knocked on the back door . . .

Laundry was finished early in the day, folded, put away . . .
Took care of paper work, mailings, etc . . .
Watched Morning Joe, NPR, The View . . .
Made Semi Sweet, Dark Chocolate Chip, walnut, pecan cookies . . . (YES, very good!)
Made Tuna Melts for Mister Irish for dinner . . . one of HIS favorites . . .
(I had never had one, ate a half of a sandwich, liked the raw veggies better!)

And painted for hours . . . made several flower cards . . . they will be great “givers” for May . . .
I was inspired by Sketchbook Wanderings May Day post
and had fun creating a similiar one of me in my jeans with my red toed Keens . . .
Can you find Snickers . . .

If you haven’t visited her . . . do so . . . I LOVE her amazing sketching, journaling artistry . . .

A storm blew in late evening . . .
Snickers came running when she heard the thunder . . .
and on went her Thunder Shirt . . .
It reallly, really works . . . for her . . .
WOWZIE . . . quite the storm . . .

“The love of a dog is a pure thing.
He, (she) gives you a trust which is total.
You must not betray it."
Michel Houellebecq

Another rainy day in western michigan . . .
And OUT I go . . . to my favorite local seed store . . . plus some other errands . . .

i’ll be back soon . . .
love

I love this post. I especially love your sketches. Somewhat whimsical. Love you in your jeans.. cute little snickers and the idea of a no go day...my favorites! I love nothing to do days. I think I have a couple of them next week. Today I did three loads of wash..hung them out.. my bed is now ready for summer. It had better be..it is ninty degrees today.
Yuk
Enjoy the rest of your week Lynne..hugs

Hi Lynne- It sounds like a perfect day. One that most of us should take the time to do once in a while. I took a week off and it was very stressful--should have stayed home and puttered around (like you did)...lol Have a wonderful day- xoDiana

Maybe I gotta start to spend the whole day in my pajamas! Actually, I have this kind of day from time to time, but I confess to getting dressed. There's still time to change......

Those sketches are fabulous. Everyone needs a day like that, it allows you to recharge. My wife's Sundays are like that and she loves it. Snickers looks cute as always. Have a wonderful evening.

Lynne...so many beautiful cards. You are truly talented and I was so thrilled to receive one of them in the mail. More lovely in person than they are online, if possible! Thank you my friend. xo

I like your sketches a lot, Lynne! What a gift to have!
I like the idea of a 'no go' day and I just may steal it. We all need one of those every once in a while.

Oh, Lynne, I love the lightness in your images and I love days like the one you had! Time to paint, draw, relaxed time, and time to get things done. There's something about continued drawing and painting, instead of grabbing moments here and there, a flow gets created...

I'm glad you liked my little May Day Girl. She is happy that spring is finally arriving in her Maine. Thank you for giving me credit for her and for giving mention to my blog...

Enjoy this day, either in or out of your pajamas!
