Patiently . . .

Waiting for the 2018 Crocosmia bloom . . .

I tucked a bulb in my suitcase on our first trip to Ireland in the late nineties.
Planted it in a north west corner of our yard . . .
I have one small clump there, although it hasn’t bloomed in the past few years.

Crocosmia is my favorite flower from Ireland . . .
Blooming here in a southwest corner, it seems happier .

Below is a two thousand seven photo of the Donovan cottage garden wall . . .
Love the sweet birdie visit . . . on a very rainy day . . .

Crocosmia blooms everywhere . . . you’ll see it in the hedgerows, in the hills, near homes too.
And here is AGMA . . . the garden house . . . surrounded by crocosmia . . . fushia too . . .
Irish Garden House . . . and dreams were born . . .

it’s the little things . . .
’til next time
love

I love crocosmia, too! I had no idea they were from Ireland. Mine are not blooming yet. It's been so hot and dry, I wonder if I should be watering them. -Jenn

They are really beautiful. I don't know that I've seen them before either, but I'd say it's a truly special flower, because it blooms in a special place! :-)

Hi Lynne, I hope all is well with you! I love the crocosmia. I had one little planting. I noticed this morning it has not bloomed this year. I'm not for sure I knew it grew so prolific in Ireland. All the more reason I spend a little time trying to revive it. Hugs!

Ohhhhh, I love crocosmia, Lynne. Some of my cyber photography friends have posted pictures of theirs on the site we go to. I don't have crocosmia in my yard but when I see theirs and now yours I tell myself I have to buy some bulbs. I like the fact that your original bulb came from Ireland. How neat!

I guess I didn't realize it was so prominent in Ireland--silly me. Crocosmia is a fabulous plant. :)
