A Happy Little Girl . . .

Great Grand Oakland was so excited for her pre school days to begin . . .
and I am so happy I am kept in the loop with pictures.

Waiting for the school bus . . . back pack, bag full of “stuff” . . .
(Instructions said they could bring a few favorite things from home and “just in case” extra clothes.)
I think she looks like she is taking off on a long trip . . . Europe maybe . . .

I think you can see her, walking in line into the school . . . she is the very tall 4 year old!

And one more hug from her daddy . . .

I like this picture she drew about her sunny day bicycle ride on the trail . . . with her dad.

And Day #2 . . . waiting for the school bus . . . isn’t that a sweet picture . . .

and with that . . .
I will leave you with “a giggle”
about my first day of teaching kindergaren, 1961 . . . in Milwaukee, Wisconsin . . .

The children were out doors waiting in line for the bell to ring, to come in to school.
One of the little girls in my class threw up . . . thirteen others threw up after . . .

Oh my, oh my . . . really great first day for everyone!
love

Oakland looks so precious in these photos. I hope her ventures into school are wonderful. As a primary school teacher the thought of all of those children throwing up is too much! lol

Such a sweetie~pie, and the apple of her daddy's eye, obviously :)

That story sure made me chuckle! Reminds me of that part of the movie in 'Goonies'... LOL!

First of all she is the sweetest...and I can't believe I have been watching her grow for years now. Darling little girl. Secondly, I taught kindergarten and your first day was always my fear. How did you go back for day 2?? ;)

Oh Lynn your granddaughter is so sweet and I love her first day photos and that picture of her and her daddy riding bikes! So glad you shared them. Man what a crazy first day for you! Those are the times that are embedded in our memories for sure. When I worked in preschool I started a blog and recored all the funny stories that happened. I had to write them down or I'd forget.
Have a great day!

I have been very poor at looking at blogs and even worse with commenting. My eye sight and computers don’t always cooperate. So today, I’ll stop by and say hello and copy this note into the comments. Some of you are on Facebook or Instagram, but many aren’t. As I’ve said all along, I’ve met wonderful people blogging.
Oakland is so cute! I love the size of her supply bag!
I was a teacher too....throwing up is “contagious”!

Oh wow, that story is precious. Must have been so disappointing and frustrating at the time! Your little granddaughter is adorable and appears to be enjoying school. That is wonderful!

I don't know if I would have giggled at the time, but it's a funny story to tell now.

I was teaching pre-school when my son had his first day of kindergarten and I had already been in session for 2 weeks. I asked to come in late that day so I could walk him into school. I drove up to the school to park and he said to me, "you're not going to come in with me are you?" So much for my "teary mommy moment.

Awww - Oakland is adorable, and very well prepared for messing up lots of outfits! Goodness, I'm not sure if I'd return for a second day of school after the first one that you had - haha!
