Forty Eight Years Ago . . .

Exciting Moment!
Yesterday my husband whom I call Mister Irish,
Veteran, Jack E Kennedy, was scrolling through some web info on USS Guadalupe (AO32.),
the oiler ship he was on when he was in the Navy.

As he scrolled through he found a Crew List . . . scrolling further he saw the name Vince Burgess. Recognizing Vince’s name immediately, he also noticed his name along with others, with the following message.

“From 1971-1972 I served with some great guys.
Steve Alworth, Chris Stevens, Skip Clements, Jack Kennedy.
The ten month westpac was an experience of a lifetime. Hope former ship mates are well!”

Needless to say, Jack was overwhelmed, stunned, happy.
It certainly made Veterans Day extra special.

“Mister Irish” sent an email to Vince . . .
This “little thing” was a very special ”big thing.”

’till next time . . .
love

Hello, Lynne. What a nice thing to happen for your hubby on Veterans Day. Wouldn't it be great if he received an answer to his email from Vince?

Lynne, I enjoyed your latest post and when I saw there was no way to comment on it, I backed up to this post. Loved your photos, especially with the red. Your pumpkin pie looks wonderful (I just posted pumpkin pie, with some tips for people who have pumpkin pie problems, which *you* clearly don't have!) Stay warm and cozy!
