Lost Some Pride . . .

Ever hear the expression . . . “Eat Dirt”
Well I did yesterday . . . literally . . .
We raked, blew, trimmed, mowed, hauled
leaves yesterday. 10:00-7:00 . . .
Clean as a whistle . . .
Too late to get a pic of it “all clean!”

Late afternoon, in the back yard, I caught my foot on a stump, with the leaf blower cord around my ankle and went flying. I felt myself going, nothing to grab to hold on to, and plop, face first into dirt. Thankful “Mister Irish” was close by. He rushed to help. Nothing broken, dazed a bit, scraped up face and a mouthful of dirt. Oh yah . . . my pride took an adjustment too!

And look at the leaves this morning!
They fell heavy overnight. It’s the name of the game around here this time of the year. If you have trees, you have leaves. And OAKS . . . we have a bunch!

Rain for a few days . . . and we will be back at it!
’till then . . .
I will leave you with GG Oakland in the leaves, colorful trees.
Pictures taken by her mom. . .
love

Hello Lynne, I hope you are ok after the fall. Sometimes it hurts even more a day later. We give up on the leaves and wait till the trees are bare. Living next to the woods, the wind blows them over on our property. Cute photos of Oakland, She is adorable! Enjoy your day, have a great new week!

Oh goodness - I'm glad you're okay! Oak trees... I know them well - so. many. leaves!!! Your photos of Oakland are adorable - I especially like the last one with the colorful leaves in the background. Definitely one to be framed!

I am SO thankful you weren't hurt! As to ego, it's healthy to have it broken ever now and again. lol

Eating dirt doesn't sound like a good snack. :) Glad you weren't seriously hurt, that's the good news. The last photo of Oakland is a stunning shot, I love it.
Take care and have a wonderful new week.

Awww, beautiful photos of Oakland. Sorry to hear about your fall, darn! But I'm glad you didn't break anything. My backyard is full of leaves right now, too. I'm hoping a big wind will come up and blow them into the woods. ;-)

OMG, Lynne, I'm so sorry about your fall! Ouch! Leaves are the name of the game around here too. One day seemingly finished, the next day repeat! Happy November!

Fall. You weren't supposed to take the term literally.

I'm glad you're OK -- though I suspect you may have a few sore spots today that weren't there straight off the bat. It looks great and I have to say all those trees are pretty gorgeous (except at this time of year once the leaves are down! Then they are probably more annoying.)

But good work, my friend. And I'm very glad you aren't terribly hurt.

We sure don't fall like we did when we were 12 years old, do we? It always feels like slow motion - And I'm glad that you are okay and not hurt!!

I love the photos of Oakland, whatta cutie she is!

Glad you're OK after that fall! I took a tumble in a grocery store over a year ago--we were on our way to the hospital in Sligo for an eye appointment after Bill's cataract surgery. I went down and the bag of rolls I had in my hand went flying and bounced off the back of Bill's head--good thing I didn't have a can of something! An EMT was there and helped me up--suggested calling an ambulance, but I declined. I understand the wounded pride! I felt like a dork. Hope you're all healed quickly!

Glad you are ok from your fall. I fell recently on a cement side walk. It was a hard fall and I was lucky not to injury myself. It was such a jarring experience.

Lovely photos of Oakland! That is the way Glen felt Sunday morning after spending all day outside on Saturday. We have lots of oaks too.

Oh no Lynne, so glad that you weren't seriously hurt!
Yep...those trips certainly dent our pride.

It was a battle of the leaves around here yesterday. Some neighbours used rakes, others lawn mowers, and we used the leave blower. This morning, after a night of winds, it's right back to what it looked like it did before everyone cleaned up leaves yesterday...*smile**.

Your G.G. is adorable and growing up so quickly :)

A mouthful of dirt sucks but is still better than broken bones. And I know what it does to our pride... been there.
That last picture is gorgeous - those colors! Fantastic. Can you send us some of your rain? We desperately need it.
