Tis The Season . . .

You'll let me crunch a few weeks into a Tuesday post won't you?

Someone said there should be an extra month in December, I agree!

~

I had a few days Christmas Treat of granny care with Baby Great Grand.

I packed up my things, drove to my daughters and read books, sang songs,

played leg bouncy, built things with blocks, walked outdoors, ate lunch

went home and collapsed.

My oh my, little ones are busy.

Best moments . . . holding, snuggling, kisses and hearing her singing

eieio

old mcdonald has never sounded so good

she must be the first twenty month old american idol musical wonder

so sweet to my ears

~

my brother terry makes tiny books out of the photos we send him

I gather the books, have them out so family and friends can take a peak when they are visiting

~

the gal that posted this pie crust recipe is known for her pies

not her recipe, but she has been using this recipe for years

just sayin' . . . let's give it a try

~

I am making Blanket Scarves for a few of the "girls" in the family

shhhhh

Christmas Party at Mary's

there are five of us, we used to work together in pediatrics at the hospital

we are known as the PEDS gals

we used to be six, Carolyn died this past year

the red tray with the crimped up edge was the tray Carolyn served her crab ragoons

it had a "close up" on the stove, now it is our traveling tray

I brought it home because "our party" will be at my house next year

Mary is the youngest and still working, the rest of us are retired.

In the group, me, Terri, Char, Bettie, Mary

Mary's daughter just had a baby, we enjoyed his visit.

We exchange gifts, I painted different seasonal pictures for them.

Mary's home looked festive and beautiful.

It was a wonderful time together.

~

and here we are

a few days before Christmas

baking wrapping cards painting

will be my mantra in these next days

mister garden house guy is baking cookies with me tomorrow

he will be great with (hopefully pictures)

I'll be back soon

Good Afternoon Lynne, Oh you always have such a wonderful time with your baby great granddaughter, she is so gorgeous.
I am definitely going to be trying the vintage pastry recipe... I love trying new recipes. Can I ask, is it malt vinegar or wine vinegar which is used?
Have a wonderful Christmas my friend and I send you much peace and love for the New Year.
With best wishes as always.

It's a wonderful life. That's what I think of when I see a post like this one. You, my dear, have a full and satisfying life. I'm sorry Carolyn was not there with you, and love how you all are honoring her with the tray (I think this would be a wonderful, touching scene in a chick-flick). My favorite photos are of Oakland. Love that casual, laid back pose in the bean bag, hands clasping the ipad. So sweet. xo ~ Nancy
