Thirty Minutes In Thirty Days . . .

doing it
right away
seven am
on go my keens
pick em up  left right  out i go
walking thirty minutes each day for thirty days
rain or shine
no excuses

birds are singing
fall is in the air

probably the last of the wild sweet peas

lovely gardens along the way
marvel at the flowers in this garden
extends entirely across the front property

happen to know this was a memorial garden
planted after the sudden death of her son
he was in his first year of med school

seeing the zinnias sure put a zip in my step

love the blue

won't walk along here again
people were zooming by me to get to work

 i liked this roadside pod
dried queen anne lace
think i will cut some
for a wall wreath

around the bend to home
can you tell i mowed last night
which was after my ten mile bike ride
ten miles is a piece of cake
 did 100 miles one day
a few decades ago
in my fifties

around the bend
and I am home

 i used to walk with
 this little princess
but now she would rather
"go for a bike ride"
than pound the pavement with me

look at her
looking out the window at me
 isn't she adorable

so this is my plan
and sticking to it
better off moving the body a bit
than clicking away on the ipad

a bit of advice
when walking alone
carry a phone
 pepper spray might be wise
 walk where there are houses/people
bring a camera
heightens neighbor curiosity

Well done Lynne.

I think the memorial garden to a son is such a wonderful idea
and I am sure that it gives Mum things to do and time to think, reflect and a sense of peace....

Love your lawns too,
perfectly manicured and little doggie waiting for you to come home, bliss...

xx

Good for you...I know how hard a walking commitment can be. That garden is gorgeous. Her grief must have been poured into that garden. What a beautiful tribute to her son.

You inspire me.

I need to find my motivation to get out walking again.
I used to enjoy it so very much.

Thank you for the beautiful pictures too.
Love that memorial garden... a very special thing to do in memory of her son.

Lynne, Do be careful! The memorial garden is beautiful. I know it must bring the owner hours of solace. I hope you are having a wonderful week. Bonnie

You are an inspiration! Good for you! (and I'd bring a little pair of clippers on such a walk)

This is the very best thing you can do for yourself. We always do for others regardless of the cost. I often wonder why it is so hard to do this simple thing for ourselves.

You go, girl!!!

And I will be checking back to see how it is going.

You can check in on me as well. :-)

GOOD for you, Lynn! I've been doing yoga and zumba this week; trying to get stronger and in better shape, not worried about losing weight.

Wonderful Lynn! I hope you keep at it. I need to do that too. I've been sedentary all summer which is when I usually walk. I'll have to get busy now to make up for lost time. I always carry my cell phone with me and usually my camera. :)

Since becoming a walker I have suddenly found out how important it is to have the right kind of pockets, as well as the right footwear! Oh what a pleasure it is though - especially when you turn that final corner and find your cute little princess waiting to greet you with so much love.

Talking of love, the memorial garden is filled with it.

Walking everyone is a great idea, I wish I did not feel so tired after working. I love your cute doggie. And the flowers are beautiful. What a lovely memorial garden. You do have some pretty places to walk by. Lovely photos, have a happy day!

good for you!!
i know how tough it is to add something like that to your daily routine! i hope you stay motivated.

that 'memorial' flower bed is just gorgeous...it's so BIG!! maybe you can just do some laps around it for 30 minutes! =) it's a lot prettier than the hard gravel road!

Thanks for the walk! Unfortunately I couldn't absorb the exercise at the same time. Your walk was beautiful and your flowers are amazing. I think you probably burned some calories mowing that big lawn too. I feel completely guilty now so I think I'll go take a walk on the beach to assuage my guilt.

Good for you...I walk that with Mollie everyday but it's not as steady as doing it by myself..You're doing that and the bike??? I gave up my bike a couple of years ago..I put my foot out to catch the curb as I stopped..Missed it..fell..I was OK but by myself..I decided that wasn't a smart thing..Your flowers are lovely..Have a wonderful weekend..
