Snowfalls and Flowers . . .

A few days ago we had a bit of snow,
since then spring like temperature in the fifties.

My Mother's
Scherenschnitte
German Paper Cutting

White Embossed Bed Spread Cloth
I use it is as a table runner.
1930's or earlier

Our Beautiful Amaryllis
has been above and beyond in beauty.
It has brought great cheer to the household.
One bud bloomed into three flowers.
Another bud is about to bloom
and it looks like it too has three flowers.

My Paper Whites Started Off Slowly
My friend Barbie is now owner of this round pottery of Whites.
Take a peek at Paper Whites
and maybe you will see them in bloom.

A friend whom I met through my blog,
gave my IGH guy the idea to copper coil
the whites so when they grow taller they won't fall over.
Perfect idea, thank you Lynn!

and . . . earlier today  . . .

What do you think,
does Snickers have a favorite?
(sorry about the sunshine white out)

I have to admit the snow does look pretty on the pine trees. I love your amaryllis, it has gorgeous blooms. Neat idea using the copper wire to hold up the paperwhites. Cute shot of you and your hubby and of course I love Snickers. Wishing you a happy weekend!

Wonderful photos Lynn- love the amaryllis color! Mine didn't make it through the summer! We need more snow only a few chunks left!!

My paper whites on my kitchen windowsill look like your first photo, Lynne. My amaryllis on top of the hutch are also possibly triples. I adore growing plants in the kitchen. At this rate I’ll have something blooming for all of winter. Chilly weather this week has me in a better frame of mind to hibernate, read and luxuriate in the season. Your snow is lovely. Keep healing . . .

I wish I could post a picture of my pot of paperwhites from you. They are so tall and bloomong already. The copper coils work wonderfully. Great photo of the two of you!

Dear Lynne, I needed something cheerful before bed, so glad I stopped by to see your smiling face, and your sweetheart's too! Hope you are feeling better, you look great as usual. Have a great weekend. Love, Penny

It looks like you are feeling better - I hope so!
I wish I'd started paper whites this year - or an amaryllis. Perhaps tomorrow I'll find one or two in a florist shop - an extravagance, but it's good to look at beautiful things.

Snickers surely does have a favorite. Your pictures are lovely. I have never had much luck with plants, and the cats here won't leave them alone when I try to introduce some other living thing, so I will just have to enjoy yours.

Beautiful snow pictures..We didn't have that much..Love your Amaryllis and Paper whites..I used to do them but Max usually gets to anything living..I used to put paper whites in a tall, broad based, clear glass vase..The sides would keep them from falling over..Like the copper wire..
Of course Snickers has a favorite..

Merry Christmas Lynn! What a nice memory of your mother, and lucky you that amaryllis is fantastic!! I bought one at the local hardware for $5 and I'm afraid it's not going to be very big! I used to sell them in my store for $15.00 and they were huge bulbs with multiple blooms that lasted for weeks (those were the good old days). Your mother's embossed linen is gorgeous (never seen anything like it) - definitely a treasure! Why is it snow and frosts looks so beautiful on other people's blogs and I look out my window and just see slipping and sliding into a ditch! Thanks for reminding me to chill out and see the beauty!! Love the family pic with Snickers (such a lucky kid)! Two favorites make a happy family!

First, thank you for the sweet comment and I think my heart stopped a moment at the beauty of all that snow. I hope it hasn't melted..it's gorgeous.
Your Amaryallis is gorgeous. I usually have some Paper Whites but haven't gotten any this year. They are so lovely too.
Love,
Mona

Love the pictures of your blooms and the one of you two and Snickers is really nice. That is a neat idea for the paperwhites. I'm using dogwood stick and a paint stir stick with twine. lol It works. Pam
