Tuckered Out . . .

I've been receiving plenty of attention the past few days.

Mom and Pop put this bright orange/red shirt on me yesterday,
because "moms and pops" took me to the vet on Friday
to have this big bump like thingy taken off my leg.

Mom and Pop are all worried about it but I am just fine!
My Vet guy said he thought it should come off, so off I went early Friday morning.
I didn't like it there very much and for goodness sake I was there all day long.
I thought I was just going to get in there and outta there lickity split
but they cleaned my teeth too I guess.

I was sleeping pretty good
and didn't notice that teeth cleaning at all.
I did notice a few things when I woke up though
like how I wasn't walking quite right and my leg was really wobbly.
My pop thought I seemed kind of tipsy . . .

I settled into sleeping and cuddling right away and
made sure I had a comfy spot to watch some TV.
Then we all settled in for the night.

I felt fine in the morning but "moms" freaked all out
when I started licking my leg like crazy.
So that is why she went and got that three month old
orange princess shirt to wear.

Those long sleeves have made it impossible for me
to do my cleaning and checking.
Not sure why she got so crazy worried,
I was taught long ago to take care of myself!

The best thing is, my "moms" keeps giving me a tiny piece of bread
with peanut butter on it, . . . every few hours or so.
Not sure what that is all about.
I don't think I have ever had peanut butter before.
Kinda yummy.

"What do you say, Percy?
I am thinking of sitting out on the sand
to watch the moon rise.
Full tonight.
So we go

and the moon rises, so beautiful it
makes me shudder, makes me think about
time and space, makes me take
measure of myself: one iota
pondering heaven.
Thus we sit,

I am thinking how grateful I am for the moon’s
perfect beauty and also, oh!
How rich it is to love the world.
Percy, meanwhile,
leans against me and
gazes up into my face.
As though I were his perfect moon."
"A dog can never tell you what she knows
from the smells of the world, but you know,
watching her, that you know almost nothing. . ."

"What would the world be like without music
or rivers or the green and tender grass?
What would this world be like without dogs?"

"I had to go away for a few days
so I called the kennel and made an appointment.
I guess Bear overheard the conversation.
"Love and company," said Bear,
"are the adornments that change everything.
I know they’ll be nice to me, but I’ll be sad, sad, sad."
And pitifully he wrung his paws.
I cancelled the trip."

a tip for small dogs, ten pounds and under
when having surgery on their legs
a 0-3 month long sleeve night shirt keeps them
from licking the sutures/surgery site
and a soft white bread, in the size of a pea,
with some peanut butter
works perfectly for giving antibiotics and
pain medicine in pill form

of course . . . you already knew this didn't you

Snickers is back to her usual self . . . almost!
thank you for following, commenting and caring

Oh everything about your blog with Snickers is priceless. I love Snickers shirt too.

Your blog brought tears to my eyes as my sons family loss their dog Teddy now going on two years. Teddy was
Only different color was white. Then his sister died not too long after.

I am a real dog lover and I could never have another dog. I find it too hard to recope after their passing. Dogs become like family.

Hubby and I looked after Teddy when my son and family were on vacation.

So glad your Snickers is a okay. Even got his teeth cleaned. How nice for Snickers.

Love that you put a shirt on her... and the color is wonderful! Just what is the peanut butter about? Is someone simply being spoiled a teensy bit? xo Glad to hear all is well and those teeth are clean and shiny!

Well, Snicker, I think your mom and pop are taking great care of you after your visit to the vet. I'm happy to know that you are feeling much better and being spoiled. Your orange shirt is kind of fun and I'm sure it helped you to get better sooner. Say hello to your mom and pop from me. xoxo Pam

I'm so behind on blog reading. I hope Snickers is doing well and feeling back to normal. I just love love this little jacket. My girls would want to dress your sweet pup up all the time in clothes.

great idea on the sweater; I used to put thrift store sweaters on lambs to keep them warm. Pills are tucked into a bit of butter or mayo and my dogs eat them eagerly.
Snickers...get well soon!

Hi Lynne,
Adorable little jacket. Isn't Snicker's a little girl. For some reason I've always thought so. Hmmm...anyway..wish Mele could wear something like that. Too much darned fur.

I am having a terrible time..just found my emails a few days ago but all my pictures are gone from AOL. I cannot find them anywhere since I upgraded to this stupid Windows 10. It's made everything so stressful.

Forgive me for not being around. So much going on ..plus the "Window's" problem.
Big hugs... :)
