Week In A Blink . . .

Where do the days, weeks go
it is past mid September
fall is in the air
my creative bug has hit me
I painted up some pumpkins
one for a friend celebrating a birthday above
and one for me below.
Plus my friend Barb joined me and painted a pumpkin too.
I like her Bitter Sweet too!
I brought out some of my fall things to
place here and there around the house.
I found a cute little owl
and this glass pumpkin at Pier One the other day . . .
A basket of Annabelle Hydrangeas
added a touch of green to the coffee table.
I have been reading constantly and enjoying it tremendously.
I liked John Hart's, The Last Child and have followed him since.
I just finished reading his riveting, brilliantly written
Iron House.
I am ready for something light and easy now for a few days.
another great grand
will arrive sometime in February . . .

Question, so when grandchildren have their babies
would their babies be second cousins
to one another.
Oh my, I am confused . . .

Grandson Cody is making all the furniture
for their "first new to be" little one.
Changing table/chest, small chest and crib.
Cody watched some videos on line,
and said to himself,
"I can do this"
and away in went.

Watching them be excited,
making furniture, painting the room,
decisions, plans
makes me excited too.
As soon as this piece is finished he will start on the crib.
Remember that fence I had on here in the spring
and I wondered what the berries were . . .
sure look like grapes to me.

Have you seen the galvanized pumpkins while shopping?
I really like them . . . the price not so much!

Take a look at Kerin's blog link below
to see what they look like.

when I am not reading
or dreaming about more great grandbabies
or painting
or snapping pictures
or sprucing up the house
you can find me outdoors
cleaning the gardens
and putting things to sleep for the winter

the leaves are beginning to show their colors here in Michigan
and the acorns are falling fast and furious.

you know the old wives tale
lot's of acorns, lots of snow.
fine by me
I love fall and winter.
~
that is it for me
and my
"week in a blink."

See you soon!
Love  . . . Lynne

Hello Lynne, your pumpkin sketches are awesome. I wish I had some creativity in me. :)

Congrats to you and the family on the new to be great grand. That is awesome.. Our driveway is covered with acorns, I wish the squirrels would come and take them away.
Have a happy weekend!

Hi Lynne, great to be handy like cody and they will enjoy the furniture so much more. Pumpkins already? yup, you are so right where has the time gone. Seems about this time of year I say that every year. We are doing a little yard and garden cleanup for Fall this week. Nice to hear from you

I like your pumpkin painting Lynne! Very nicely done. And another great grand on the way? What a blessing to be able to celebrate and enjoy great grandkids! Your grandson is very talented at building the wood furnishings for his baby. I can never figure out the cousin thing either. LOL Enjoy the weekend.

So many things I was commenting on in my head as I enjoyed this post!
First, LOVE the pumpkin paintings!! And all the dashes of fall. Our leaves are turning here, it's beginning to look a lot like Autumn!
Also.. Congrats on another great grand on the way! I became a Great Auntie for the first time this past week, my parent's first great grand. His name is Oakley, which reminds me of your Oakland, and he is perfect!
Cody is doing a great job on the furniture, so special.
I just finished a very light "feel good" read, The Rosie Project. I enjoyed it!
Enjoy your weekend, Lynne!

Love, love your pumpkin paintings! Just perfect for Fall, and for a Fall birthday present for your friend.
Your Grand is doing a beautiful job on building furniture for your G. Grand. Congratulation to all on the baby to be :)

Drat.. those galvanized pumpkins are so adorable, too bad that they don't come with an adorable price tag **smile**.
Guess I should feel lucky that I was able to snag one at the price I did..

Love your glass pumpkin from Pier 1... it is so pretty.

Have a sweet weekend, and best of luck with the Fall yard clean up.
We're working on that around here, too.

You should enter your pumpkin in In a site I belong we had to do white in three Muses Challenge.

We had to do white or another color with it. Which was a help for me. It was fun but I wasn't really familiar on how I would do this. So I added some grey and a lack.
We do digital art.

Your painted the white pumpkin and background white so unique. .

Awesome!

Pier One always has the sweetest owls this time of year, I bought four or five owls there last year... so my owl supply is good for this year. LOVE that little glass pumpkin you got! Maybe I need to take a drive to Pier One again tomorrow... xo

I'd not heard that about acorns and snow. If it is true, then we'll be having lots of snow too here in Indiana. I like your pumpkin paintings. I usually buy the mini gourds and pumpkins for my table. Haven't seen any yet. Our family is growing too- great-grandson born in April and granddaughter in July.

Lynne, please forgive me for being such a bad visitor. I'm not sure why I've drifted..I need to bet back in the saddle, as they say. At least out west they say it..or used to. Never mind. I have not been to Pier1 in ages and ages. They always has such neat stuff. Your little owl and glass pumpkin..so nice. Very Fall.
The furniture will be something to be treasured..and he seems to be doing a wonderful job.
Wish I could paint like you do. Probably everyone who can't wishes that. :)
Fall and Winter are my favorite seasons too..but California has "Fallen" short for a long time now. heh heh! A little play on words. Heat is upon us again.
My son Danny burnt his hand getting into the trunk of his car this morning!
I can still remember your Winter posts..you shoveling snow..all bundled up. What a lovely place you live in. So beautiful. I'm looking forward to all the snow pictures I get to see. I look forward to those.
My snow scenes are on far away mountains...from a distance I see Winter.
Big hugs,
Mona

I like your "week in a blink", Lynne. It gives me a flavor for the days of your life. You keep busy and engaged. I like it. Your pumpkins are delightful. I was just talking about Bittersweet with Dennis yesterday. I'd love to grown some, but not sure if it would do well here. I'll be checking that out. Enjoy the cooler days and don't work too hard in the yard. (Like I'm one to give that advice!). Hugs, Nancy P.S. Cody is doing an awesome job with the furniture. Congratulations on great grand #2 (I did get that right, didn't I?).

I liked John Hart's The Last Child, so I have to check out the new one, once I make a dent in my bulging bookcase of unread books.
