A Hydrangea Bonanza . . .

My friend Jackie has a Hydrangea bush which is
gorgeous, fabulous, beautiful
She was over for coffee yesterday
and she mentioned the bush
was in full bloom.

She also said
come and take a look
and you can cut as many as you want.
(I was there within the hour!)

I think originally there may have been
one blue and one pink hydrangea
in this small space.
These bushes may be fifty years old or more.

They are a mixture now, some blue, some pinkish
and then a magical mix of
a blue with dotted pink spots.
Look below and you will see.

I took Jackie seriously and cut with abandon.
I brought them home, cut off the leaves and
Inside they came so they could dry a bit.
Eventually I hope to use them in some dried arrangements.

As I was outside cutting the leaves from the stems yesterday
I stuck them in Snickers bicycle seat.
I liked the look . . .

and a few minutes ago
I liked this look even more!

A very happy Snickers.
Sometimes it is a good thing
when you realize you are second best.
Serious. hero worship here!

Ear and tummy rubs
and kisses to boot!
It became a wonderful world
approximately twenty minutes ago.

Thanks for visiting.
Enjoy a really great weekend!

Those hydrangeas are just too pretty! I've never had any luck in growing them, unfortunately.

So glad all is now right in Snicker's world. :)

So glad your hubby is back, obviously Snickers is very happy. Love the hydrangeas, there are some glorious cream ones that I see on my walk with the dogs every morning.

The hydrangeas are beautiful. I love the polka dots ones! Beautiful photos! So glad Snickers has her Daddy home. I am sure you both missed him. Have a happy weekend!

Maybe you can root one of your blooms. These will dry beautifully.

Granny used to bury old iron under her bush to make it bloom blue.

I love Hydrangeas and the way they change colors..Hopefully mine won't fall prey to the "butchers" with the chain saws..I guess I'm going to have to put yellow tape around my cottage if I know when they're coming..

I haven't seen hydrangeas that blue since I was in Portugal...the soil in this area dictates pink, pink, pink, which is nice but the blue is so stunning!
