Hello Sunshine . . .

You may remember my friend Barb and I took off for Florida a few weeks ago.
We couldn't resist the chance to be in some warmth
do some visiting and shopping
and take care of a dog too.

Toby was no work at all.
It gave us a chance to get out two, three, four times a day
for a walk and look at the beautiful homes in the neighbor hood.

To have a chance to spend time in this wonderful setting
relax with a coffee in the morning
in PJ's on the lanai
put me over the moon with happy.

There were flower blossoms all over.
Such a treat it was.
My camera was snapping like crazy.

We found this most interesting plant in the neighborhood.
Not sure what the plant is.
You Floridian natives might know.
I think it looks like a giant Aloe or something??

Up through the middle is this giant stalk,
I would say 10-12 feet tall.
It looks just like an asparagus stalk
A gardener service man in the neighborhood
said there will be a flower
bursting from the top . . . very soon.

Many of you have met my friend Barb before.
I have mentioned her often on the Irish Garden House.

It was Barb's brother Mike and SIL Marlene's home we stayed in while in Florida.
Plus it was their dog Toby we were responsible to take care of for a few days.

Although I know many of Barb's family members,
I had never met Mike and Marlene.
They are such a wonderful couple,
very easy and comfortable to be with
and they treated us kindly and royally
while we were in Florida.

Thank you Mike and Marlene,
for dinners, lunches, warm gorgeous home, Toby critter hunts
and most of all to be with the two of you.
It was wonderful to spend Easter Sunday together
and meet your children, mother in law too.

White Barb and I dog sat,
Mike and Marlene took off North to Ohio on business.

And Barb and I got down to business
with dog sitting and vacationing.

 Bar Louie
was one of our first stops
on day two of being out and about.

And a what a treat it was, the best
Bloody Mary in town!

Winter 2014 put its spell on me
it was time for me to get some sun
and enjoy myself!
~
part two tomorrow

That would be an ideal vacation for me. House sitting and dog sitting in a beautiful setting (for free!) and enjoying the beauty. I'm not a beach person so this would be fun as long as I had a car to tour around with. I'm glad you and your friend had the opportunity to do this. Fun times!

Sounds like you and Barb are having a wonderful time. The flowers there are so pretty, I love the tropical flowers, they don't grow that well here though.

Burger love in PEI couldn't come close to that price. Wonderful trip and walk about the neighbourhood. Don't know the plants and flowers as I have a hard enough time remembering the names of ours, lol. However, I did also so enjoy the many plants that were different than what we have, it is a different atmosphere altogether.
